Paul J. Evans
Paul has been an attorney practicing for over 25 years. Experience includes litigation, and a large amount of transactional work including contracts and employment law issues. Part of his area of specialty is in the area of real estate. He is the author of a chapter for the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education on the conversion of agricultural lands to non-agricultural, developed, usage. A significant portion of his practice is devoted to probate and estate planning issues, especially the planning for individuals with special needs. He has been a speaker for the Illinois State Bar Association on the issue of “conservation easements” and the forms he developed have been disseminated among practicing attorneys.
Evans obtained his Juris Doctorate from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 1988. Earlier he obtained his Bachelors of Science, at age of 20, from SIU-C. In addition to being a practicing lawyer for over twenty five years, he is also an Arbitrator for the St. Clair County Arbitration program, trained mediator, and an Arbitrator for FINRA, the Financial Regulatory Authority. He also is a licensed financial advisor, possessing both financial and insurance licenses.
Paul is a former Illinois State Representative, serving in the General Assembly from 2011 to 2013 where he focused on financial reform, conservation and the rights of mentally and developmental disabled individuals. He has been married to his wife Sandy for 26 years and lives in O’Fallon with their three children.

Stephen W. Adamsky
Stephen W. Adamsky graduated from Saint Louis University School of Law and practices in both state and federal forums within the State of Illinois. His specialty areas consist of personal injury, criminal defense, civil litigation, real estate, probate, and family law.
Stephen is also an Air Force veteran with over 20 years of service, which uniquely qualifies him to handle the subtle nuances and complexities associated with military divorce that oftentimes impacts military careers. If you are an active duty military member, it is imperative you hire an attorney who understands not only the civil landscape, but the implications marital dissolution can have on your career as well. Stephen will help you navigate those tough situations, such as military protective orders, reassignment, spousal support, etc. With Stephen, you do not simply get an attorney – you get a military trained attorney.
Stephen has a passion for criminal defense. Oftentimes, attorneys tend to get pigeon-holed into a specific area of law. When that happens, they begin to think with blinders and forget their clients can avail themselves of the entirety of the law. For example, Stephen has employed family law doctrines as means to convince the State to voluntarily dismiss their own felony charges. Stephen understands that specific doctrines apply across the spectrum of litigation, and he utilizes every tool he can possibly conceive to gain victory for his clients.
When Stephen is not grinding away to secure his clients’ victory, you can probably find him at the gym, or an urban park setting, taking in the nature with his children. He is an advocate of small business, good food, live music, and intellectual debate.
Clay Finley
A southern Illinois native, Clay is licensed in Illinois, Kansas, and California (currently inactive). Before joining Evans and Adamsky Law Firm, he was corporate counsel for a hospital, oversaw a leadership program and museum for a state university, served as COO for a nonprofit that supported attorneys defending religious freedom overseas, and worked as a staff attorney at the Alabama Supreme Court.
With recent experience in a health care setting, Clay understands the importance of having well-prepared documents, whether designating someone to act as power of attorney in an emergency, documenting wishes for end-of-life care decisions, or creating an estate plan that secures the things that matter to you for the people you love.
Clay’s experience in corporate and government settings also gives him wide experience with regulatory agencies. We each face a bewildering array of requirements in our personal and professional lives, and the applications and compliance forms that go with them. Clay will work with you to help you understand what is required so that you or your business can proceed with confidence.
Personally, Clay is passionate about creating order and beauty, and curious about the ways social structures and procedures (especially government action) shape and influence human behavior. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law (cum laude), the Oak Brook College of Law and Government Policy (magna cum laude), and the Honors Program of the Helms School of Government at Liberty University (summa cum laude).
